Fellan Mc Guigan gets out to new record.
A number of weeks ago Dempsey Mc Guigan shattered the Irish u 18 hammer record well it was his younger brother Fellan's turn last weekend as he yes shattered the u 16 boys hammer mark . The record stood at 53-33m so in goes Fellan to the circle in Tullamore round 1 its 58m then comes 63-48m,65-06, a foul throw ,61-61m and in the last round a mighty 66-14m his previous best was 62-50m so a vast improvement bringing the event in this age group to new heights . His brother Dalton who really prefers steeplechase got a pb 1500m at 4-25 in what has been a good week of personal best performances . Well done both . John Kelly as his season comes to a close in the coming weeks can be very proud of his record over the last 12 months not a great day by his standards on Saturday but a silver at 39-93m in the discus well below his training distances the event won in 41-02m but he forced the throw and technically it dosent work but in the years ahead he will sort that . Stephanie Connolly and Emma Mc Sorley made the top 4 in discus and a medal is always refreshing and indeed encouraging .
Good to see Kevin Holian back on the road circuit again and Ian Ward back on the track while Noel Colins 2,and Conor Moore 5th gave an indication of some training effort in a 5 mile race recently.
