Records tumble as Finn Valley athletes excel in Antrim.
The young talented bunch of athletes made their way to the Antrim Forum on Saturday the 19th of June hoping to gain qualification to the
All-Ireland Championships in July. They excelled and managed to return home with 13 medals in total and 2 Championship Records with
John Kelly throwing a fantastic 16.10m in the U-15 Shot Putt and Fellan Mc Guigan impressive when hurling the Hammer 62.44m. THese are exceptional performances indeed Kelly won the discus and was a 39m thrower in the javelin .Add in Gavin Mc Laughlin in javelin,Ryan Stwart in shot 11-10,Jade Leeper in discus and shot ,Shannon Mc Laughlin 800m,Tara Kate Harley 1500m, Blaithnaid Patton a 1-50 in high and just missing out on that vital 1.55 which she needs in the event and a medal in the long ,Caoimhe Mc Menaminin long and 250m hurdles,and finally Ian Brennan and Dalton Mc Guigan .
This Friday it;s Aghyaran 5k - all hands on deck.
