Valley women to the fore in North West

Valley women were to the fore in the North WEst 10k led by county number 1 Teresa Mc Gloin returning a strong time in a race which attracted a record 2300 .Catriona Mc Granaghan has to be happy with her 2nd placing while Kay Byrne placed 4th . This event the largest in the area has certainly caught the imagination and is a credit to the committee that organised the day . Interesting to note that the forerunner to this ocassion the Rockhill road race had only 13 competitors alll of 25 years ago . There certainly is a serious number of people out and about nowadays exercising and this turnout underlines just that .
