St Johnstone athlete wins British title
John Kelly added the English junior boys shot title to his recent list of success which includes the Scottish and Ulster championships throwing in Birmingham on Sunday getting out to 14-20m a personal best . The Royal and Prior schoolboy who came into athletics per the County school primary school sports a few years ago continues to progress and his series of throws at the weekend was as follows 13.22, the winning 14.20,13.46, x,1392,14.06.Accompanied to the NIA , Birmingham by his coach support team of father John and Niall Wilkinson both of whom were national underage champions with Lifford ac .Next up for young John is nationals here in Ireland in coming weeks .
In Magherafelt on Saturday indoors the 2nd phase of the Ulster indoors with a positive return from many youngsters Niamh Mc Granaghan 1st Shot 6.86, Chloe Kennedy3rd Shot 6.OO, Amy Crossan 3rd 600 ,Denver Kelly 1st 600, Stephanie Connolly1st Shot ,Emma Mc Sorley 2nd shot.
