Ulster Schools Belfast

At the Ulster schools in Belfast on Wednesday a number of Finn Valley athletes competed for their schools. Rebecca Ward competing for Royal & Prior Raphoe getting 2nd in the Long Jump and also the Hurdles, John Kelly gaining 3rd in the Javelin, Blathnaid Patton 4th in the Long Jump, Justin Brown 6th in 800m, Ciara Kelly & Shauna Finn also in 800m, Pauric Mc Laughlin once again showing his talent winning the Steeple Chase in 4.38.4 also winning his age group was Mark Bonnar now competing in the Steeple Chase. Those who have qualified will now progress to the All Ireland Schools in Tullamore Co Offaly on Sat 30th May. This competition is the most competitive competition in Ireland. Good luck to all.
The Ballyshannon 5km was held on Friday evening in memory of the late PJ Branley, with a 7.30 kick off and over 70 people participating. James Flanagan getting back to winning ways after a long break through injury, James running a time of 15.36, the 1st Lady home was Helena Crossan Inishowen AC. A number of other Valley athletes running for full results see results attached. Well done to Paddy Donahue & Tir Chonaill AC who have taken over the organising of the race.
