Valley athletes medal at National 10km

A number of Finn Valley athletes travelled to Navan co Meath for the National 10km, a senior ladies team which included Kay Byrne Teresa Mc Gloin and Cliodhona Dunne, having competed in the National road relays last week end all three athletes once again having strong positive runs, Teresa Mc Gloin gaining a new Pb with a new time of 36.42. The master's men's team which included Kieran Carlin, Patrick Hagerty, Drew Doherty and Jim Hynes battled and finished 8th team, Kieran Carlin gaining a bronze medal in the V2 category. Congratulation to the Letterkenny senior men's team who got Bronze medals once again Pauric Mc Kinney leading the team home.

Congratulations to Rona Loubser who run in the London marathon, Rona running in her first marathon finishing in a time of 2.53.11.

Looking ahead to the North west 10km next weekend, this is the first race in the Donegal Grad prix serious, everyone whether you are a walker, jogger or an aspiring Olympian will be welcome to run., this is a great opportunity for everyone too get out and run. Also at the weekend was the Irish University's Paul Doherty finished 2nd in the 110m Hurdles and 3rd in the combined events at the National Universities Champs and Nicola Alcorn finished 4th in the 1500m Walk in Limerick at the weekend. Both were part of DCU's scoring team who won the overall award and top male and female university.
