Letterkenny Easter Sunday 3k

On a glorious sunny Easter Sunday Letterkenny AC host it by now annual 3km, on the usual one loop flat fast course around the LYIT. Most of the Valley athletes using this race as a fast run out for preparation for future races. The overall race won by Eoin Mc Ginley From Cranford Pauric Mc Kinney taking 3rd, Dominic Bonar battled with Johnny Patton for 4th eventually getting 5th Kieran Carlin 2 places back with a time of 9.22 followed by Pauric Mc Laughlin, both Pauric & Mark Bonar having a burn out over the first 2km both now look ahead o the Schools. Darren Mc Glinchey also having a burn out over the shot race. In the ladies race Teresa mc Gloin once again continues her good form with a win in a time of 10.05 Teresa having won a mid week 5km race in Coleraine now looks to the road relays next weekend. 2nd lady home was the ever-youthful Kay Byrne followed by Catriona Devine, great to see Catriona back on the roads.

Well done to all Valley athletes who race on Sunday.

Congratulations to Letterkenny's Maria Mc Cambridge on her selection for the World Championships in Berlin. Gaining her selection after her superb run in the Paris marathon paced by her husband Gary Crossan Maria ran a time of 2.35.29.

Next weekend Valley athletes look forward to the National Road Relays held in the by now familiar venue of Ranheny, then the National 10km the following weekend.
