Finn Valley Athletes Dominate at Ulster Championships

At the NI & Ulster Juvenile indoors held in Magherafelt Co Derry Valley athletes once again proved their dominance in Ulster athletics, 25 athletes gained qualification to go through to the National Indoors Champs in Nenagh, at the of March, beginning of April. Kicking of the day was Sasha Byrne in the 60m Girls 98, Sasha have a great run finishing in 2nd position (one to look out for in the future) in the same age group Leanne Kelly 3rd in the 600m with Karen Kelly 2nd in the High Jump. Boys 98, Shane Thompson 2nd in the shot Putt, whilst the boys were 2nd in the 4x100m Relay. Boys 97, Gavin Mc Laughlin was 3rd in the Shot Putt, Osin Gallen 1st in the Long Jump & 2nd in 600m Osin once again showing he is versatile at various events. Girls 96, 3rd in the 4x200m Relay, Girls 97, Siobhan Mc Menamin 3rd in the LJ, Boys 93, Mathew Kelly 2nd in the Shot Putt, Boys 94, Mark Bonar 1st 1500m in a very good time of 4.24.7, Boys 91, Michael Penrose 2nd 1500m Pauric Mc Laughlin 1st 1500m and 2nd in the 800m Pauric getting into good form having gained a national schools gold last weekend. Lorcan Mc Menamin getting a PB in the 400m finally inn the Girls 92, Jodie Stewart getting 2nd in the shot Putt, 4th in TJ & 4th in the 300m.
