Busy Period Ahead For Valley Athletes
The 2007/2008 athletics season planning is complete and with all
elements returning to training and the sessions Tuesday and Thursday 7.30
and Sunday morning 10.30, it's that time of year again, back to
school, back to the routine of training.
The club will host a number of autumn cross-country meetings beginning
with the schools (primary) October 2nd, the secondary schools on
October 3rd and the Ulster championships on November 11th, in addition
to the Donegal Senior event. Newcomers are always welcome from age
seven
upwards.
A full recreation programme in addition to athletics, for the centre
will be released this week. Club committee meeting this Thursday 8.45,
so it's all hands on deck as the new challenge of a new season
begins. Recently Clive Heapes and Brendan Alexander attended a two day
coaching session in Birmingham while Shauna Guthrie completed in a walk
event last weekend in England her first attempt at 5k and fared well.
Best wishes to those club members on beginning third level courses and
to those beginning the secondary stage of their education.
Sympathy
Sympathy is
extended to former Club member Eamon Mc Gonagle on the death of his
daughter Leona. May she rest in peace.
